Ukraine

Ukraine is a sovereign country located in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Belarus to the north, Russia to the northeast and east, the Sea of Azov to the southeast, Crimea to the south, Romania and Moldova to the southwest, and Hungary and Slovakia to the west. Ukraine is the largest country entirely in Europe by area and has a diverse landscape that includes plains, plateaus, and mountains. The capital and largest city is Kyiv. The official language is Ukrainian, and the country has a rich cultural heritage influenced by its history, religion, and geographical position. Ukraine gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has since been recognized as a unitary parliamentary republic. The country has a significant agricultural sector, rich natural resources, and a developing industrial base. Ukraine’s history has been marked by periods of conflict and struggle for sovereignty, particularly in relation to its neighbor, Russia.
